Situated approximately one mile from Colyton, and a similar distance from the sea, these two self-catering holiday cottages are set in a very peaceful location on the edge of Holyford Woods. Both are within the grounds of the owners’ home, a Grade II listed farmhouse, The Stables Cottage (sleeping up to 5) forms the majority part of a converted Victorian coach house and is located opposite the farmhouse. The oldest part of the property, dating back to the late 15th century, is Crispin Cottage (sleeping up to 7). Attached to the owners’ home, this east wing was originally a medieval hall, and has a wealth of oak panelling, beams and other period features.
The Holyford Farm website has all the details on both properties, information on a stabling option for visitors with horses, provision for walkers (the properties are close to both the South West Coast Path and the East Devon Way), and independent guest reviews. It also details the opportunity for large groups (up to 12) to book both properties. It is a wonderful place for children to stay, to experience life on a small holding with a variety of animals – chickens, alpacas and pygmy goats.
