Colyton & Colyford Memory Café

What is a Memory Cafe?

Colyton & Colyford Memory Café is run by a committed team of volunteers for the benefit of residents in Colyton, Colyford and the surrounding area.

Its purpose is to provide an afternoon of company and enjoyment for people living with short-term memory loss and/or early stages of dementia, and to offer a support network for them, their carers and their families.

The café is open in Colyton on the second Wednesday of each month from 2pm to 4pm and in Colyford on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 2pm to 4pm. There is no admission or membership fee. Everyone is welcome.

We aim to offer a variety of themed afternoons for all to participate in. Highlights this year have included:

  • Expressive painting workshop, Spring flower planting, Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir
  • Special events were a New Year Tea Dance and a fund-raising Garden Party

Our Café belongs to the Devon Memory Café Consortium, which takes responsibility for guiding and training volunteers. We are proud that our café is valued for the part it plays in our two neighbouring communities.
