Bruce Upton from Bridport Museum will give an entertaining talk on
KEEPING THE HOME FIRES BURNING
Life on the Home Front during the Great War
We leave idyllic pre war days and move into the heady jingoism of “it’ll be all over before Christmas”. Gradually the grim realities of a war of attrition become all too apparent, all seen from the perspective of the families left at home. We touch on censorship, rationing, helping the war effort, and making mountains of knitting!
Wednesday 21st February, 7.30pm at Colyford Memorial Hall.
All welcome, £2 to include refreshments.
