FoStA – Concerts for Colyton – Sirius Chau – Flute

The Friends of St Andrew’s, in association with the Tillett Trust Young Artists’ Platform, is proud to welcome a flautist with a great future to perform for us in Colyton.

Recently selected as the Tillett Trust Young Artist and Manchester Mid-day Concerts Artist, Hong Kong-born flautist Sirius Chau is a young rising soloist and orchestral player in the U.K. and Asia. Sirius was awarded the MMus with Katie Bedford and Sue Thomas, supported by a Leverhulme Arts Scholarship, at the Royal College of Music where he received his BMus with first-class honours. He was the winner in the Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra Competition, RCM Concerto and Solo Woodwind competitions, Westbourne Orchestra Concerto Competition; and has received awards from the EMI Music Sound Foundation, Help Musicians UK, Drake Calleja Trust, Countess of Munster Musical Trust, Kathleen Trust and St Marylebone Educational Foundation. Sirius has performed at major venues in London, Hong Kong and Estonia, including Barbican Centre, Royal Festival Hall and St John’s Smith Square. He has worked with English National Opera, City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong and Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra.

Sirius will be accompanied by Kumi Matsuo on piano.
