FoStA- Luka Okros – Concerts for Colyton

Saturday 18 November 2017 at 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

The Friends of St Andrew’s is delighted to give you a second opportunity to welcome the wonderful talent of Luka Okros. His last concert in the church received a well deserved standing ovation. A stunning concert. Since his last visit, he has won many important international awards. You really shouldn’t miss this concert.

Luka was born in 1991 in Tbilisi, Georgia. His love of music was discovered by his parents, when he was only four years old and piano lessons were organised for him. In 1996, after just one year of study, he gave his first recital at the Union of Georgian Composers.

In 2013 he was awarded a full scholarship to the Royal College of Music and moved to London, where he is now based, to study with Professor Norma Fisher for a Masters Degree and Artist Diploma Course.

Since 2014, he has won ten top international prizes and awards, including the Grand Prix “Iturbi Prize” in Spain, Piano Campus Competition in France, Hattori Foundation Award and The Tillett Trust Award in the UK and the Tabor Foundation Piano Award at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland. Luka was also invited to perform live as a guest on the Arts programme “In Tune” on BBC Radio 3.
