Legacy to Landscape – Bats About Bats, Whitford

Craig Dunton, Grey long-eared bat project officer from the Bat Conservation Trust leads a bat walk along the River Axe at Whitford. Introductory talk at Whitford Village Hall will focus on Grey long-eared bats, one of the UK’s rarest mammals and the Back from the Brink project, which is working to save this threatened species from extinction. The talk is followed by the walk with bat detectors by the river bank at dusk to spy on these marvellous and mysterious flying mammals.   Find out more about the Grey long eared bat project: https://naturebftb.co.uk/the-projects/grey-long-eared-bat/. Parking at hall or by river bridge. If parking by bridge, walk up to the village hall for the introductory talk (allow 7 mins)  Dress up to keep warm and bring a torch. No booking required.
