An illustrated talk presented by well known old Colytonian, Jane Ferentzi-Sheppard, a Bridport based local historian who has been researching migration for over 20 years. The C19th brought huge social, political, religious and economic changes to the West Country. Come along hear the migrant’s story of why and where they went. Set in Colyford, Colyton’s pretty sister village, this unique costumed Procession is led by the Mayor of Colyford and his Lady, through the Village to Fayre Field. The Friends of St Andrew’s, in association with the Tillett Trust Young Artists’ Platform, are delighted to announce violinist Maria Gîlicel as the winner of the 2018 RPS Emily Anderson Prize. Originally from Romania, Maria is currently pursuing her Masters at the Royal College of Music with Professor Maciej Rakowski. She has worked with Nicola Benedetti, Alina Ibragimova and Leonid Kerbel, and recently performed under the baton of Maxim Vengerov for his Orchestral Masterclass at the College.
