Holyford Farm Cottages
Situated approximately two miles from Colyton, and a similar distance from the sea, these three self-catering holiday cottages are set in a very peaceful location on the edge of Holyford Woods. All are within the grounds of the owners’ home, a Grade II listed farmhouse, The Coach House (sleeps up to 4) and The Gardener’s Cottage (sleeps 2) are both situated opposite the main farmhouse. The oldest part of the property dating back to the late Tudor period is The Old Farm House (sleeps up to 5). This east wing, attached to the owners’ home, has a wealth of oak panelling, cross beams, an inglenook fireplace and lots of other wonderful historic features. Large groups can book a combination of the properties for a celebratory stay or a family gathering.
The Holyford Farm website has all the details on the properties, information on a stabling option for visitors with horses, provision for walkers (the properties are close to both the South West Coast Path and the East Devon Way), and independent guest reviews. It is a wonderful place for children to stay, to experience life on a smallholding with chickens and a small flock of friendly Grey Face Dartmoor sheep. Lambing takes place in April.
