FoStA Summer Event – Brooke Sharkey Folk Concert

Saturday 15 July 2023 at 6:45 pm - 9:30 pm

The Friends of St Andrew’s, Colyton, is pleased to present Brooke Sharkey, accompanied by Blythe Pepino & Isak’s Island, colleagues of many years. Brooke first came to our attention at last year’s Sidmouth Fringe Festival, we liked her, so we thought we would invite her to perform for us here. Subsequently, Brooke has asked if her talented friends could perform too: we, of course, said yes. We are delighted to be welcoming them to our wonderful venue, the magnificent Parish Church of St Andrew, Colyton.

Brooke Sharkey, a singer-songwriter, hails from London and spent her formative years in France and now resides in Oslo. Her passion for melody creation and singing emerged at a young age, but it was during her transition between cultures that her interest in song writing blossomed. Since starting her musical journey as a busker and session singer at 16, Brooke has released two EPs and two full-length albums.

Her music delves into themes of love, loss, hope, beauty, nature, seduction, and sadness, with her unique vocal delivery and lyrical prowess.

Join us for a special Summer Social with Pimms & Canapés on the Church followed by a Concert of Evocative & Poetic Folk Music. There will also be a bar inside and a chance to chat with Brooke and her friends (including a Cilla the dog). We look forward to seeing you there!
