Colyton & Colyford Memory Café

Colyton & Cloyford Memory Café is run by a trained and committed team of volunteers for the benefit of residents in Colyton, Colyford and the surrounding area. Its purpose is to provide an afternoon of company and enjoyment for people living with short-term memory loss and/or early stages of dementia, and to offer a support network for them, their carers and their families. The café is open on the first Wednesday of each month from 2pm to 4pm. There is no admission or membership fee. Everyone is welcome.

We aim to offer a variety of themed afternoons for all to participate in. Highlights this year have included:

  • Scottish Country Dancing demonstration, African Art Workshop, Down Memory Lane Quiz
  • Special events were a New Year Tea Dance and an outing to Bicton Gardens

Our café belongs to the Devon Memory Café Consortium, which takes responsibility for guiding and training volunteers. We are proud that our café is valued for the part it plays in our community.
