Gyle 59 – Local Micro-brewery
We want you to notice what you are drinking
Gyle 59 is a micro-brewery based in Marshwood Vale less than a mile over the border in Dorset. Amanda Edwards and Jon Hosking are co-directors of the brewery and have lived in Colyton since 2008. They launched Gyle 59 in January 2014 and have already won a couple of awards for their brews. Currently they supply local pubs and bottle shops as well as outlets in Bristol, London and the Home Counties in either cask or bottle.
Jon says “We believe that beer can be enjoyed by almost everyone. We simply combine spring water, the best malts, the most flavoursome hops and the most effective yeasts to produce beers that are distinctive, interesting and a pleasure to drink. All our beers are created with one thing in mind – flavour. We are lucky enough to have a unique supply of spring water which we are using to good effect allowing the many different qualities of our ingredients to shine through”.
Visit Colyton are very pleased to announce that a specially brewed beer (which won silver at the Society for Independent Brewers SW regional competition) will be available soon to help celebrate the Monmouth Rebellion Living History Day on 13 June 2015.
